What Is Co-op?

Cooperative Education is the foundation for all experiential learning programs that are offered at the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.  It is a program that offers senior students the opportunity to extend classroom learning at supervised work placements within the community while earning credits.  Students gain further knowledge of a subject area through practical experience.  Co-op can be related to any course that the student has taken or is taking while enrolled in the Co-op program, regardless of whether the student is bound for college, university, apprenticeship or the workplace.
